Laptop Deathmatch Winner: Xenos

Congratulations to my friend and project collaborator (I think the term "bandmate" is kinda obsolete these days), Daniel, known as Xenos to his tranced out spectators. He's on the way to the Laptop Battle National Championship in Seattle and that's because he's a badass. We wish him luck!

Unfortunately, as a result, the show on Feb. 20th is being rescheduled. Sorry, boos. More time for us all to have reached our ideal weight by the time the Sweet Boys show arrives!

New Year

Oh New Year, how I love you. What promise you bring. Despite your immense unpopularity with most Americans because of the looming misery projected by the newsmedia, I still love you. Maybe 'cause I like the impending chaos and unpredictability and unemployment. Maybe I see this time as a period of leveling the overinflated and the underpriveleged. Maybe I just thought '08 was so shit that anything could top it. In all cases, I'm still happy to be where I am, which is on the verge.

I'll post my new songs up shortly. Basically what you have heard so far is the bones of a record that I want done and in your earholes in several months. In your earholes, baby.

Big wet chapsticky kisses.

Updates

I've been anti-technology for too long now. I'm making an effort to dive back into the interweb, where pornography, celebrity Myspaces, and updated-every-second newsfeeds take the guesswork out of life. I am now able to find out exactly what is hip per day, making my job as an artist much easier (not to mention variety-filled, because what is hip seems to change more times a minute than the auto-save on my overtly drunken e-mails to music magazines.) Man, I told you all grunge was gonna be back in a big way! But now the flannel plaid is 3 times as expensive, negating the "grunge effect".

 Cue less embittered blog talk:

I've been writing a hell of a lot, both on my own and with Tile, a new project with Jennifer Mayes from B Minor Harmonic, Lisa Umbarger from the Toadies, and Daniel Dacus from The Frenz (I don't know the names of his many other projects). With the new songs, which are rough and unfinished as I post them online, will come music videos. Finally music videos! After five years, I think it's time and can't wait to start working with the film artistes who have exchanged ideas with me. Also, I'd like to invite you to the first assemble of Sweet Boys since August. It's at Gavan Nelson's photography exhibit on Dec. 18. Please come out and join us: the photos are great and so is the set we're gonna play.

War, hate, smooth jazz. JK, it opposite day, lol!!!

New Website, Buddies

Here's my new site. Boring and basic, but the main point is to provide good shit to you at all times. I can update this a lot easier, which is great, because I've got loads of stuff I want to put up. Please check back often; I will be posting info and pictures and fun shit galore. Most importantly I'll be putting up a new song as often as I can. My friend Beau told me about this Dial-a-song thing that They Might Be Giants did. I'm not doing it 'cause they did it. I'm doing it because I love you, that's why.

So come on back now!
